BELOW WAS A PLAN THAT HAD SOME START UP BACKING AND NUMEROUS PARTNERS INTERESTED IN DEVELOPING 8 YEARS AGO. THERE WAS A LARGE SET BACK WHEN THE ARMORY PROJECT WHICH WAS TO DE RENOVATED RETOOLED AND TURNED INTO A MULTI USE ENTERTAINMENT RESIDENTIAL PROJECT BUT THE TOWN ELECTED TO ALLOW A CITIZENS COMMITTEE WITH OUT LACK OF MONEY OR REAL VISION TO HAVE CONTROL OF THE PROJECT. 7 YRS LATER THE ACCOMPLISHMENT IS THEY HAVE TOTALLY CEEDED CONTROL TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO PUT A REFERENDUM ON THE NOV 2020 BALLOT FOR THE CITIZENS TO VOTE ON WHAT THEY WANT .
I THINK THEY WOULD THEN BE LOOKING AT APPLYING FOR SOME GRANTS IN ORDER TO MOVE AHEAD ALTHOUGH THERE IS SMALL PRIVATE FINANCIAL INTEREST APPARENTLY IN PLACE THE DECISION BY THIS TOWN COST POTENTIALLY HUNDREDS OF JOBS THOUSANDS OF USERS AND VISITORS AND POTENTIALLY FOR THE OTHER PROJECTS INCLUDING THE RETOOL OF THE TOWN GARAGE AS VERY LARGE MIXED DEVELOPMENT OVER 300 ACRES OF LAND KNOWN AS CRALLE PLACE AT US 460 and 49 NOW JUST RESERVED FOR VERY LOW GROSSING PASTURE AD AND AG USE.
AT ONT TIME DAVE CORMACK OF THE SUCCESSFUL WAKESHAW GROUP OUT OF 6 4 YEARS AGO WAS READY TO MOVE BUT THIS TOWN DID NOT MAKE THE REAL ATTEMPT TO ASSIST IN ANY WAY EASILY COULD HAVE SO THAT IS AN OPPORTUNITY MAYBE DELAYED OR TOTALLY LOST
